What happens after tryouts?

After tryouts the coaches will determine what teams we will field for the season and skater placement. Team levels formed will depend on ages, abilities and number of skaters trying out.

Each skater will receive a contract that specifies their team placement for the coming year, the team practice schedule, anticipated competitions and contract cost. The cost to be on a team each year is intended to cover the majority of expenses associated with participation. The price typically includes the following: coaching, ice, bus transportation for competitions (includes 1 parent per skater), use of a winter parka, competition dresses, tights, makeup and competition registration fees Items not included in contract fees are air transportation (if needed), practice clothing, hotel costs and most meals when traveling.

2018-2019 weekly fall/winter practice times for the teams (subject to change):

Junior: 7-8 hours/week; Saturday mornings, Sunday afternoons, Monday nights
Intermediate/Novice: 5-6 hours/week; Saturday mornings, Sunday afternoons
Juvenile/Pre-Juv/Prelim: 2-3 hours/week; Saturday afternoons
Beginner: 45 mins/week, Sundays

During the summer months, all teams practice only on Wednesday evenings except Junior who also practices Sunday evenings.
